Elise Wasmayer is a young girl found by Father Abel Nightroad and Tres Iqus who is the descendant of people who gained powers through a series of experiments conducted before Armageddon that gave these witches telepathy, ESP, telekinesis and psychokinesis.
Though seemingly normal, Elise is a contact telepath whose touch can affect a victim's mind.

Elise is a witch sought by the Inquisition, whose power is called Touch Telepathy (the power to make people relive their dreams), where she is a product of genetic engineering, which was widely practiced before Armageddon. William Walter Wordsworth explains that by simply touching someone, she can control their mind and even force them to kill.
After being discovered by the Vatican, Elise attempted to escape. Father Tres Iqus was ordered to kill her for attempting to escape, but she was rescued by Abel Nightroad, only to end up in the hands of a group of rogue vampires known as the Fleur du Mal, who planned to turn her over to the Rosenkreuz Order. Father Abel and Tres were then sent to eliminate the vampires and bring her back.
A reactivated Tres locates the vampire lair and manages to dispatch a group of vampires while Abel uses his Crusnik form to deal with the leader of the kidnapping group. Tres finds Abel and Elise after the battle, claiming that he cannot kill them and complete his mission because he is out of ammunition. When the trio is then ambushed by the leader, who was thought to be dead, Tres shoots her, revealing that he never actually ran out of ammunition.

The novels explain that during Armageddon, both humans and vampires hated witches and hunted them down ruthlessly. The global genocide of witches left few alive, and some traits lay dormant, skipping generations and appearing randomly in their descendants.
Elise claims to be a seventeen year old, but has been noted to have the appearance of a fourteen-year-old.
